Antique Sterling Silver Needle Case
English * Circa 1850
This little antique silver needle case is very high quality and nice and heavy.  It is English and tests solid sterling silver.
English silversmiths didn't hallmark small items (and have to pay duty on them) until required to by law in the early 1880s. It is octagonal in shape and hand engraved on six of the panels. This style of engraving places it solidly in the 1850s in age.
The condition is excellent with no dents or damage and i
t has some very fine old needles. It
measures slightly over 2 1/4" long.
