Antique Figural Greek Vase Silver Needle Case
    French * Circa 1880
This unusual solid silver needle case is in the form of a an ancient vase with a Greek style painting of a toga clad woman looking into her mirror. The design is embossed into the surface on both sides and there are borders with several other classical designs. It is parcel gilt, which means some parts of the design have been gilded to make them stand out.
The condition is excellent with no dents, splits or other damage and it measures 3 3/8" long.
It is stamped with the boar's head French hallmarks used for 800 silver (800/1000 pure) made in Paris.
