Antique Mauchline Ware Wood Needle Case Sewing Round Alloway Kirk Victorian
Lovely little Victorian Wood Mauchline Sewing Needle Case Souvenir Mauchline Holder
This little wooden antique sewing needle case features an image of Alloway Kirk on one side, and says Made of Wood grown on the banks of the Doon on the other side.  It is late 1800's.  The case is round, with wood on each side, and blue velvet around the edge where the needles would be inserted.   has a little piece of blue ribbon scrap on the top, the rest of it is missing.  This piece measures 2" across.  It is in very good condition, with a little wear on the outside.  The velvet is worn, and has discolored somewhat.  There is some crazing to the finish on the wood, as you can see in the close-up photos.
