    Description

    Antique Tunbridge Ware Needle Book
    English * Circa 1860
This little needle book has marquetry wood covers and was made in Tunbridge Wells in the county of Kent, England in the early-mid Victorian era. The front cover has a mosaic design that spells out 'Needles' with a geometric border. The back cover has a floral design, probably taken from one of the Berlin woolwork charts of the day. The inside covers are also wood with marquetry borders. All are made of all different colored woods and o
nly natural wood colors were used.
Inside there are four finely woven
wool pages with some very fine steel needles.
It has a dk blue velvet spine and silk ribbon ties. The
condition is excellent inside and out with no chips or damage to the mosaic. The velvet spine still has most of its nap. It measures 2 3/4" by almost 1 5/8" closed (not counting the ribbons).
I stand behind everything that I offer and
