Description

1860's to 1870's.
Rare fourfold form with lots of needles and BRIGHT RED SATIN lining.
Rare fourfold 4 fold Antique VICTORIAN Kirby Beard and Company "Milton" NEEDLE Case BOOK in red leatherette with RED SATIN lining and many NEEDLES. Likely dating to the 1860's or 1870's, based on the Birmingham and Redditch locations.
Outside shows some wear, especially on edges and corners as shown, but has a nice gold-stamped decoration.  Inside is BRIGHT AND FRESH, with unfaded RED SATIN lining in excellent condition, and all graphics crisp and clear.
Inside panels read:  "Superior Sewing Needles, Kirby Beard & Co. Limited England, Tapestry, Straw, Crewel, Betweens, Darning, Chenille, Needles for Art Work Kirby Beard & Co Limited Patent Birmingham & Redditch"
Size closed 4 3/4" x 2 1/2".  Size open 11" x 4 3/4".
Very nice vintage condition.  Some wear to edges and corners as shown . Inside is crisp and clean with  red satin lining.
