The Xaphoon, actually pronounced "Za phoon" is a very unique instrument, producing a deep tone similar to a Soprano Sax or a Clarinet, very much a cross between the two. Using the expressive power of a 2.5 size Tenor Sax reed, the Xaphoon boasts a fully CHROMATIC 2 octave range, providing an awesome sound with tremendous flexability. The experienced players will find the Xaphoon to be capable of all the subtle shadings and vibrant power of a saxophone while beginners will find it fun and easy to use. Great practice for other reed instruments also. The Xaphoon is not a Sax, or Clarinet, or even a Recorder, it's something different, inexpensive and exciting.
